Air Conditioner Water Leakage

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]A commonly reported issue is that of water leaking from an Air Conditioner Unit into the room.

This water can leak either from the plastic body of the Air Conditioner unit or from behind the Air Conditioner unit on down the wall.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1622659566355{border-bottom-width: 1px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;border-bottom-color: rgba(119,119,119,0.17) !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

1. Problem and Probable Causes

  1. Drain Pipe going from the Indoor Unit outside your house has clogged up.
As a result of this, the moisture that trickles out from the indoor unit ends up dripping inside the room.
  2. The Indoor Unit (IDU) has not been serviced or cleaned for sometime and a lot of dust and debris has accumulated inside.
This too, can prevent the moisture from the Indoor Unit flowing outside and instead, drip inside the room.
  3. In rare cases, if water starts dripping from the first installation, there are chances that the drain pipe is not sloped right or that the installation may have some minor error.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]This is not only damaging the wall, the floor where the water leaks, but it is also damaging the Air Conditioner Unit as this is not how it should be. The water is meant to be drained outside via the drain pipe.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1622659585195{border-bottom-width: 1px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;border-bottom-color: rgba(119,119,119,0.17) !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

2. Possible Solutions and Positive Effects

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”top”][vc_column width=”2/3″ offset=”vc_col-lg-8 vc_col-md-8 vc_col-xs-12″ mobile_bg_img_hidden=”no” tablet_bg_img_hidden=”no” woodmart_parallax=”0″ woodmart_sticky_column=”false” parallax_scroll=”no” mobile_reset_margin=”no” tablet_reset_margin=”no”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1622660027738{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]The solutions to the water leakage problem are fairly simple and straight-forward

  1. Clear out the drain pipe that goes outside. Ensure there are no rigid bends or breakages which allow the moisture to flow back into the room.
  2. Call for a Service Person to come and clean the AC unit. They clean the AC Indoor and Outdoor unit for a nominal charge.
  3. Call for the installation person to come and take a look at the installation for any error, and to rectify it.

Water dripping can be avoided by ensuring that the drain pipe remains clear and that the Air Conditioner is regularly serviced and cleaned. It is ideal that once in 10 days, the indoor be lightly cleaned, dusted, and the dust filters washed, dried and put back.

This in turn ensures that the Air Conditioning unit remains problem-free for a long time and best of all, this efficiency will ensure that you save on your electricity bills. A water and/or dust choked Air Conditioner consumes a lot of electricity due to its inefficiency.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle” mobile_bg_img_hidden=”no” tablet_bg_img_hidden=”no” woodmart_parallax=”0″ woodmart_gradient_switch=”no” row_reverse_mobile=”0″ row_reverse_tablet=”0″ woodmart_disable_overflow=”0″][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1622660188134{border-bottom-width: 1px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;border-bottom-color: rgba(119,119,119,0.17) !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]
